COLLEGE TRACK

Located in San Francisco’s Bayview community where less than 1 in 20 students graduate from high school. College Track was the first project to receive funding from SFCIF. With a mission to empower young adults from underserved communities to graduate from college, College Track has developed a 10-year educational program starting the summer before students enter ninth grade and continuing through college graduation. By providing academic support, encouraging participation in leadership skills, financial, and academic training, and offering scholarship guidance courses, the program strives to remove barriers that may otherwise prevent these students from obtaining college degrees.

In 2011, SFCIF provided an $8.7 million new market tax credit allocation to College Track to help finance the rehabilitation of an educational facility. This project enabled College Track to expand its outreach in the Bayview community. College Track is now able to serve approximately 400 students per year and 95% of its high-school graduate or move on to enroll in college.
