SF WHOLESALE PRODUCE MARKET PHASE ONE

For 137 years The SF Market has been supplying San Francisco with fresh, healthy produce. The SF Market is San Francisco’s original and only wholesale produce market, housing wholesalers and distributors in 10 buildings over an 18-acre site. It has served as a vital hub for San Francisco’s Bayview Hunters Point neighborhood by creating jobs for over 850 residents while also fostering efficient, diverse and innovative programs that support local farmers, food recovery, and robust retail opportunities.

SFCIF provided a new market tax credit allocation of $12.8 million to The SF Market to help fund critical Phase I construction costs for the renovation of a manufacturing facility. This partnership has helped to ensure that local residents have jobs, related small businesses flourish, and fresh food is accessible to people living in the Bay Area.
